SUMP PUMP
WHAT IS IT?
After a house has been successfully waterproofed, a tool that goes hand in hand with this, and is just as important, is the sump pump. This is a machine installed underneath the floor of the basement and it is connected to the weeping tile system. The function of this pump is to collect and draw out all the water that has flowed down the foundation and expel it outside the house.
As this tool is very essential, we always recommend constant inspection and maintenance of the sump pump, and a replacement every 7-10 years. MRH Waterproofing offers all of these services as well as the initial installation.
The process
After basement waterproofing is completed, a hole is cut and dug out in the concrete of the basement.
A sump pump liner/basin is installed to protect the pump.
The pump is placed inside and connected to the weeping system and to a check valve, that will make sure water flows one way only.
after everything is checked to be working perfectly, the lid is installed.
The surrounding area is perfected and cleaned up.
The sump pump is always left accesible through the surface for future maintenance.
